he Process of Rain

Water in the earth is kept in many places like the ocean, the ocean, the river and the lake. But don't be wrong, the plants leaves and the land also kept water.

Each day, this water will evaporate with help of the sun. The process where water evaporates from plants is called transpiration. Afterwards the vapour will experience the process of condensation where the vapour will condense and turn into a cloud. The form of the cloud always changes according to weather conditions.

The clouds will move to different locations with the help of wind that bellows vertically or horizontally. The movement of the vertical wind results in the cloud forming big 'lumps'. After that, the wind increases the size of the cloud and each cloud will overlap. Finally the cloud will reach the atmosphere that has a lower temperature. Here the particles of water and ice is formed.

Eventually, the wind can not support the weight of the cloud and so the cloud that is full with water will experience a process called precipitation or the process where rain or hail falls to earth. 

How a Spider’s Web Forms

A Spider web looks delicate but it is very strong. It can hold 4000 times a spider’s weight. But how does it form.

First the spider spins a thread of silk. The thread gets blown over to a branch by teh wind. Then she makes another two threads and makes a Y shape. Next she makes more threads and they look like spokes off a wheel. Then the spider goes in a spiral, out and back in, sits in the middle and waits for food. 

This is how a web is formed.

 

Venus Flytrap

The Venus Flytrap is an extraordinary plant. It is a carnivorous (flesh eating) plant which can digest flies and other insects.

When the ‘trap’ is open, it looks like a large seashell with sharp, spiky ‘teeth’. It has bright colours and a beautiful scent.

Insects are attracted to the plant because of its vibrant colours and its sweet-scented nectar. The insects land on small ‘trigger’ hairs of the trap and this pressure causes the trap to close. If the insect is too small, the chamber will not close, because there is not enough pressure. Once the trap has swallowed an insect it takes ten days to diggest it.

The Venus Flytrap prefers tropical weather and so it is found in places like South America. It is often used by people to catch the annoying insects that fly around their houses. In my opinion it’s very useful plant!

Early Dams

Dams have been built on rivers and streams all over the world for thousands of years. In the Egyptian desert cast of the Nile River are the remains of a masonry dam that probably dates back to 2500 BC. Other ancient darns have been found in present day Iraq, Syria, and Arabia. Most of these dams were used for collecting and storing water for irrigating the fields in the dry desert regions.

Early dams were built with rocks, earth, and wood. These dams worked fairly well unless the pressure of the water became too great, or they were overtopped by high flows of water; Then the dam would be washed away. Gradually men learned how to design dams that could withstand great pressure. New materials were added ’to strengthen the darns.

Fast food nowadays is considered a normal eating venture. People are not just eating out on special occasions or weekends anymore. It means that all the time they mostly eat fast foods. However is fast food good for health?

Fast food has its popularity in the 1940’s. Within a few years, fast-food operations popped up everywhere. With the compelling rise in fast-food restaurants since the 1940’s, oddly it started the rise in obesity and cancer during that same time period.

Fast food is highly processed with a wide array of additives. To ensure fast food’s low cost, the fast food products are made with highly-processed ingredients to give it shelf-life, to hold consistency, and to enhance flavor. Fast food is altered from its original healthy form.

It is not the calories in fast food which damage health and waistline. It is the chemical additives such as aspartame and MSG (monosodium glutamate). Studies show that the chemical additives lead to weight and disease issues.

So, there is absolutely nothing nutritional about fast food. Fast food simply feeds hunger and craving.

BLECKY

I have a very cute pet. His name is Blecky. Blecky is a Russian Dog. He has White and spotted black fur. He is 2 years old now. He is not only smart but also adroit. 

Blecky is a loyal pet that I ever had. Everyday, he picks me up in front of the Bus station for waiting me back to home after school. He takes my shoes when I suggest him to do. He always flatters my hands when I feed him and sometimes he takes bath with me. He is also a lovely and friendly pet for he is my playmate. He always accompany me to go to the market, play football, run and play around. In short, I love Blecky.

 

 

 

 

MY HOUSE

            Hello Friends. I am Christian Fernando. But you can call me Christ. I live in a town. I live with my family. They are my parents, my brothers, my sisters, and my uncle. I have a big house with five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a store, and the large garden. 

            My garden is clean because every morning I sweep the garden. My sisters wash the dirty clothes and dirty plates while my brothers water flowers. Today, my living room is dirty. My mother asks me to sweep the floor.

          Hello friends, My full name is I Dewa Putu Adika Happy Putra. My friends call me Happy. I’m 13 years old. In my free time I play basketball. At the weekend I watch some TV and play computer games. I like surfing and chatting on the Net too. During school holidays I sometimes go and hang out at the mall with my friends or go to their houses. Before I go to sleep every night I like listening to the pop music. I also have some activities with my environment club at my school. That’s about two times a month. But I spend most of my free time at Tunas Hijau. I go there at least two or three times a week. NIAGARA WATERFALLS

Niagara waterfalls is a famous area of waterfalls. It is one of the most beautiful natural wonders of North America. It is on the Niagara River, about halfway between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The Niagara rivers forms part of the border between Canada and the United States. At Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada is on one side of the river, and the US' State, New York, is on the other side.

Niagara Falls really has two waterfalls. The Horseshoe Falls is in Canada, and the American Falls is in the United States.

The Niagara Rivers drops into a steep gorge or canyon, at the falls. Most of the water flows over the Horseshow Falls. They are not as high as the American Falls, but they are 2,600 feet (792 meters) wide-about 0.5 mile (0.8 kilometers). The American falls are about 1,000 feet (305 meters) wide. Beyond the falls are the Whirlpool Rapids. There, the powerful swirling water has carved a bowl out of the rock. 

At night, colored ligh shine on the thundering falls. About 10 million people visit Niagara Falls each year.

MY BUSY HOLIDAY

On April 16th, 2010, I thought this would be a great holiday for me because that was the holy day for Hindhu people . I was so tired about the study, so I guessed this time I could get full refresh anyway. However, the fact said the other way.

First like an ordinary daughter, I had to get up early morning helping my mother, of course after I prayed. Then I did my chores, cleaned up my room, and spread out my bed under the sun ray. I was really in danger if my mom knew that my room was messy. So, I made it as soon as possible. Second, my aunts called me in the afternoon. I did not meet them for a long time, that was the way I kept for hours to talk with them. After that, unpredictable my neighbor visited me. She asked my help finishing her homework. At last, the time was running and I just remembered that I had a lot of homework. I got mad, confused and regretful why I did not check my homework before. Therefore, I did my homework until 2:00 a.m. the next morning.

 

 

  Camping

Last weekend, my friends and I went camping. We reached the camping ground after we walked for about one and a half hour from the parking lot. We built the camp next to a small river. It was getting darker and colder, so we built a fire camp. 

The next day, we spent our time observing plantation and insects while the girls were preparing meals. In the afternoon we went to the river and caught some fish for supper. At night, we held a fire camp night. We sang, danced, read poetry, played magic tricks, and even some of us performed a standing comedy.

On Monday, we packed our bags and got ready to go home.

 

My Holiday Was Fantastic

Last summer I got a fantastic holiday. I visited some great places.

I went to an airport and was going to fly to Cleveland. I was spending there two days. I liked to see some Cleveland Cavaliers basketball matches.

Then I went to Hollywood. Hollywood is a famous district in Los Angeles, California, United States. It had become world-famous as the center of the film industry. Four major film companies – Paramount, Warner Bros., RKO and Columbia – had studios in Hollywood. I did not want to leave but I had to.

After that, I went to New York city. I visited the Statue of Liberty. I went from the bottom of Manhattan to the top of the crown. That was very amazing.

The places made me feel at home but I have to go home. Next time I would return to them.
